Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7New International Version (NIV)
The Emmanuel Youth Group welcomes students in grades 6-12.
Members of the Emmanuel Youth Group (EYG) prove that they are cheerful givers. They help with Camp Emmanuel and take leadership roles at sleep-away camps, go on family mission trips, and work in the nursery. Last year, they hosted bingo at Mountainside, gave away books at Bread Fund, cleaned up the Emmanuel Graveyard, and much more. Here are ways youth (grades 6-12) can be involved at Emmanuel:
- Sunday Morning Discussion. Meet in the Ledford House for snacks and discussion based on Scripture and lived experience.
- Participate in Worship. Acolyte, Altar Guild, Choir, Eucharistic Minister, Intercessor, Greeter, Lector, and Usher are all roles that are open to EYG members. Ask Father Christopher about how you can join these ministries!
Confirmation Class: Each spring we offer a Confirmation class for youth ages 14-16 who wish to be confirmed during the Bishop's visit in the fall. For more information, please visit our Confirmation page and contact Sarah Brockenbrough.
Many, many thanks to all who support the Emmanuel Youth Group! For information on how you can get involved, email Sarah Brockenbrough.
